Tejaswini Niranjana is a scholar and translator. Among her books are Musicophilia in Mumbai (2020), and Mobilizing India: Women, Music and Migration between India and Trinidad (2006). She has co-produced, with Surabhi Sharma, films on music such as Jahaji Music: India in the Caribbean (2007), and Returning to the first beat (2017). She is currently Professor of Cultural Studies at Lingnan University, Hong Kong, and Director of the Centre for Cultural Research and Development.
