Priya Purushothaman is a Hindustani vocalist, educator and writer. She is a disciple of Vidushi Aditi Kaikini Upadhya and Pandit Sudhindra Bhaumik, and has received guidance from Smt Shashikala Kaikini and the late stalwart Pandit Dinkar Kaikini of the Agra gharana. She performs in India and abroad, conducts lecture-demonstrations, workshops, and teaches privately. She is the author of the book, “Living Music: Conversations with Pandit Dinkar Kaikini,” and has published writing on music in publications including The Hindu and Deccan Herald. In 2019, she was an Artist-in-Residence for the Bagh Sound Lab. She is a graduate of Columbia University.
