Noam Chomsky is one of the world’s leading public intellectuals. He is a linguist, philosopher, political scientist and activist. He is a professor of linguistics at the University of Arizona, and is an Emeritus Professor at MIT. He founded the field of modern linguistics and cognitive science, about which he has written several books. He has also written extensively on US foreign policy, and about the media. His latest book, published last year, is Internationalization or Extinction: Universalising Resistance in which he argues that only popular movements around the globe can hope to tackle the twin threats to human existence of climate change and nuclear war.
