Born in 1976, Dorka Farkas is a Hungary based artiste, director-choreographer of Baltazar Theatre Company, the only professional theatre in Hungary employing mentally disabled actors. In 2017 and 2019 Olivia Réti-Harmath and Dorka Farkas directed and choreographed DANDELION/DUST – dance theatre performance. (Two pieces in one, or one in two pieces).
Since 2015 she teaches contemporary and creative dance in Baltazar Art Centre, where young mentally disabled students have extracurricular activities. She is also member of board of Artman Association for Arts And Movement Therapy, and co-leader of Tánceánia Mixed Ability Ensemble. She has accumulated long years of experience in staging improvisational dance theatre performances with physically disabled performers as well as in artistic skill development of visually impaired people.
