Miriam Margolyes has spent her entire life bringing words to life on stage and screen. She has wrestled with the texts of Becket, Brecht, Dickens, Ensler, Rowling, Shakespeare, and Wilde. In this freewheeling chat with theatre director Bruce Guthrie, she charts her love affair with language, from her early days studying literature at Cambridge until her recent roles.

Miriam Margolyes O.B.E. was born in Oxford and read English Literature in Cambridge. She is 79, still working in drama and documentaries.
